Stop Trying Too Hard

So what does this mean? Well I'm going to talk about manga, specifically English made manga.

You know giving a good effort is not that bad, but guys.... Stop abusing Photoshop and Manga Studio. I mean every English manga I see the whole page is toned. And I'm like "WUT". Seriously, stop using so much toner. And it's so funny because I was reading what Tokyopop said about their toners and do not encourage the old ways of doing things because it "makes it harder for them to publish". Though the Japan doesn't have problems with this. Seriously English manga artist... Less is more when you do a page, not unless it's a picture, not a page panel.

And most of the time they overcompensate, they hella tone but can't really draw. >.<
Arggggg.

I'm just frustrated with the English made manga overall, I personally think there is nothing good out there.

Soul Eater

"A pure soul resides in a pure body~"

I love "Soul Eater" it's like the best manga/anime to come out for a while. Though I think of it more as a cartoon more than anything else. The reason being the style and story telling of the series, it's not very common. Actually it reminds me of what anime used to be, like back when "Speed Racer" and other titles were out, it's more creative that's for sure.

I need to start collecting the DVDs of the series (no they haven't came out in the U.S. yet) Here is the cover of the first DVD

This is actually the first time where I actually really like the main character. Maka is actually a pretty cool girl. Her voice can get a bit annoying once in a while, though it is better than most. The person who does the voice for Maka, well she doesn't give her a high pitched voice. And, yes, that is actually really surprising. It's a tiny bit nasaly, but it doesn't hurt.

The guy coming out of the sythe "Soul Eater Evans" or "Soul" well I like his manerisms a lot. His speaking manerism has to do with "cool" everything that is cool in the world is good to him. Items and attitude, all must be "cool". The other more physical mannerism is when he eats a soul. His mouth movemets are really exagerated. Yeah you've seen people eat in anime and it's subtle, but here it's drawn out, because the chewwing is a part of Soul's personallity. He says that souls don't really taste like anything, but he loves to chew them.

There are a lot of fun characters in the show. And it's really great, if you ever have the time I suggest you either watch it or read it.

Yakitate Ja-PAN!

Oh man~

I have been reading a new manga (well it's not really new) and it's called Yakitate Ja-PAN! And it's about PAN (i.e. Pan is the Portuguese word for bread) and I love it! Mainly because I love bread. Who doesn't love a theme about bread and has a nice cast of characters, who a few of them are visually appealing. And it's about delicous bread. BREAD.

There's a clown, a afro guy, man with a mask with long hair, pretty men....

AND THERE'S ANIME SPOOFS!! XD

Seriously good many series. But there are a lot of puns that most people won't get. But it's still good none the less. I hope you all go check it out.
